Mike is a retired NJ teacher, administrator, and school crisis counselor. He has a BS in Elementary Education and MA in Counseling.

He resides in Arvada Colorado with his bride of 40 years, Claire Armstrong.

Along with providing counseling to at-risk young adults, Mike founded and operated two successful service businesses in a beach town in NJ before they moved and fell in love with the mountains in beautiful Mt. Washington Valley in NH.

In NH Mike volunteered as a ski instructor at Ability Plus (now MWVAS). The program offers adaptive sports for people with any type of disability.

It was in NH that he founded and launched choose2advance.

Over the last 5 years Mike has been the Operations Director for the national organization called Journeymen. The groups mission is to connect men to support each other in life as they strive to be good humans, loving Dads and supportive partners.

In was through his work mentoring men within Journeymen.co that he was inspired to make Mentoring a part of choose2advance program in Arvada.

Mike is an outdoor enthusiast and the activities he loves here in the Front Range of Colorado include hiking, biking, kayaking, trail running, snowboarding, backcountry and XC skiing.
